PRESS RELEASE
The Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) has received today from the Commercial Court - Second Instance Chamber, the Decision regarding the security measure on the issue of the liberalization of the electricity market.
The Decision of the Commercial Court - Second Instance Chamber has approved the appeal of ERO and has amended point IV of the Judgment KA.nO.301/25 of the Commercial Court - First Instance Chamber, in which case it has rejected the plaintiff's claim for the postponement of the liberalization of the electricity market.
As we have emphasized earlier, the electricity market liberalization process is in full compliance with the legislation in force, in a transparent and impartial manner, respecting all procedural and material standards. The legality of this process is being confirmed by the competent courts, most recently by the Commercial Court - Second Instance Chamber, confirming that all steps have been taken in accordance with the laws applicable in the Republic of Kosovo.
ERO calls on all commercial customers who must be in the free market and who have not yet concluded a commercial electricity supply contract, to act without delay and choose one of the licensed suppliers published on the official website of ERO, because from 16.08.2025 commercial customers who have not signed a commercial contract with one of the licensed suppliers will be disconnected from the energy network.
ERO remains committed to guaranteeing a fair, functional and competitive electricity market, which serves customers and acts in accordance with local legislation and European standards.
