Meeting between the Board of ERO and the KfW team

KfW in cooperation with the AfD and the Government of Kosovo have started cooperation on the Policy Based Loan for the climate and energy sectors, targeting various policy actions, including reforms related to KEK.

The discussion focused on the importance of ERO’s functioning as an independent agency guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo and the Energy Community Acquis, recent developments in the wholesale and retail electricity markets in Kosovo, the progress of electricity market coupling projects, energy supply tariffs and recent developments, with a particular focus on capacity charges, installation of smart meters and various aspects related to the operation of REMIT. Also of particular interest to the team were the ongoing activities of ERO that may affect the future operations of KEK and the main challenges for the further development of the market and the sustainable development and functioning of KEK.

ERO remains committed to strengthening cooperation with international stakeholders, contributing to the long-term development and stability of the energy sector in Kosovo.
