The Energy Regulatory Office held several joint meetings with key actors in the energy sector

The Energy Regulatory Office, in the sequel of the meetings held this week, held separate meetings with the representatives of the Energy Community Secretariat (ECS) based in Vienna, as well as the representatives of the Transmission System and Market Operator (KOSTT). and representatives of the Universal Service Supplier (KESCO).

In these meetings, ERO informed the participants on the current situation in the energy sector, respectively the challenges and problems that the sector is going through. In particular, the situation created as a result of the suspension of ERO's decision on retail electricity tariffs was discussed, along with the Decision of the Court of Appeals, and at the same time, they were informed in detail about the procedural actions that ERO has undertaken at the competent courts, in accordance with the legislation in force.

The representatives of the companies expressed their concerns about the uncertainty that this lawsuit has created, as well as the difficulties and eventual problems that they will face in the near future. Also, in these discussions, the issue of non-coverage of the costs of the energy system was raised and consequently, jeopardizing the whole process of the Connection Agreement in the international organization ENTSO-E, since this process is not a separate one which will be applied only to one public entity in this case, but it is jeopardizing the entire stability of the operation of energy enterprises.

Furthermore, the parties agreed to continue meetings and cooperation, to find a solution that is as acceptable as possible and with fewest consequences possible for all parties, always taking into account the security of electricity supply, the protection of enterprises in the energy sector as well as customer protection.
